Council president Pat Passio ran the June meeting, in the absence of Mayor Nick Kappatos. Councilman Craig Laubenstein was also absent from the meeting. The meeting minutes for 4/30/2024 and 5/7/2024 were approved.
Council president Passio administered the oath of office to this year’s Youth, Mayor, and Council. Passio then swore in both Christian Velazquez as a new firefighter at $35,000.00 per year – prorated and John Angelucci as a new patrolman at $40,000.00 a year per contract- prorated.
The meeting was turned over to the Youth, Mayor, and Council. There were PowerPoint presentations on ideas for Runnemede’s upcoming centennial celebration in 2026.
After all the PowerPoint presentations and reports were given, the Council then took over the rest of the meeting. Several ordinances and resolutions were approved. In addition, Council approved the payment of bills. Councilman Robert Farrell abstained.
The next borough caucus meeting will be on Tuesday, June 25th starting at 6 p.m.
[Approve Resolutions 6-5-2024] – An Open Public Records Act request was submitted on 6-5-2024 for the approved resolutions. The request was completed on 6-14-2024.
