Free Rabies Clinic

The Free Rabies Clinic on Saturday was a huge success.  Due to the high volume of residents, the time was extended until 1:00 p.m.  Dr. Christine Caserta from the Blackwood Animal Hospital had vaccinated 162 pets.

The Camden Animal Shelter was also present to microchip and register pets.  The fee was $20.00 and eleven pets received a microchip. [microchip information]

Councilwoman Pat Passio greeted and handed out treats to all of the pets.  She also helped to keep the whole procedure to run smoothly.

Eleanor Kelly, a member of the Runnemede Woman’s Club was collecting donations for the Animal Welfare Association.  AWA is located in Voorhees and is a no kill shelter.  One of the donations came from a 6th grade student from Mary Volz School.  The 6th grader donated $80.00 from her birthday money.  In the envelope, the letter stated that she wanted to help the animals in need.
